Frequently asked questions

How do you test gift card platforms?

We open an account on each platform, complete its KYC process, and sell real gift cards using our own funds. We record the rate we received, how long the payout took, how quickly support replied, and how the trade flow behaved. Every score on this site comes from one of those test records.

Do platforms pay to be listed or ranked higher?

No. Ranking is produced by a fixed weighted formula applied to our test scores. No platform can buy a position, and administrators cannot reorder the rankings by hand.

How often are platforms re-tested?

Each platform is due for a re-test 90 days after its last recorded test. The date of the most recent test is shown on every platform review and ranking row.

What does the score out of 10 mean?

It is a weighted average of ten dimensions: gift card rates, payout speed, trade experience, support and disputes, KYC and onboarding, product quality, other features, security and trust, reputation, and app store reviews. Platforms without a mobile app are scored on the remaining nine dimensions, with the weights renormalised.

Are the rates shown guaranteed?

No. Rates move constantly and depend on the card type, region and receipt. The rate figures we publish are what we actually received on the date of our test, not a live quote.
