Basewallet completed our $20 Razer Gold trade in nine minutes and credited almost the full displayed amount to the wallet. The main drawbacks were the ₦100 withdrawal fee and the KYC address stage, which could not be completed because the state list failed to load.

Basewallet is a digital services app that began operating in 2024. It is available on Android and iOS and serves users in Nigeria and Ghana, with naira and cedi payouts through bank transfer.
Besides gift card trading, Basewallet offers bill payments, airtime and data, gift card purchases and eSIMs. Payments from completed trades enter the platform wallet before they are withdrawn to a bank account.
How we tested Basewallet
We tested Basewallet on 10 September 2026 with a $20 US Razer Gold e-code. The card was approved in nine minutes and credited ₦23,002 to the wallet. The separate bank withdrawal took one minute, and a ₦100 fee was charged.
We checked the rate shown before the trade, the amount credited or received, the trading steps, withdrawal time, fees, KYC and support. This follows the process explained on our How We Review page.

Basewallet’s KYC flow requested BVN, a government-issued ID and proof of address. The BVN and NIN stages, including two selfies, took about 15 minutes. We could not finish the address stage because the state list did not load.
The gift card trade was easier. Basewallet displayed ₦1,150.12 per $1 and an expected payout of ₦23,002.40. The card was approved in nine minutes, and ₦23,002 entered the wallet after rounding. The bank withdrawal took one minute and cost ₦100. Email support responded in seven minutes.
